SAUNA & SEA

Our mobile sauna at Spanish Point is operated by Kealan. With years spent in and around the West Coast of Ireland, Kealan has developed a deep appreciation for the connection between ocean, environment, and wellbeing.

His passion for traditional wood-fired saunas comes from a belief in simple, natural experiences that restore both body and mind. Every session is carefully prepared, with the sauna heated using traditional methods to create an authentic, high-quality experience. Whether you’re stepping in after a surf or simply seeking a moment of calm by the sea, Kealan brings knowledge, care, and genuine enthusiasm to every visit.

Spanish Point Beach is a discovery point on the Wild Atlantic Way and is one of nine International Blue Flag beaches in County Clare. The lengthy sandy beach is a popular bathing and surfing area, while lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer months. The beach has plenty of amenities including a woodfired sauna, surf school /surfboard rental, free parking, public toilets and shower facilities, an observation deck, picnic tables and a Wildlife Information Point.

Spanish Point is so named because two ships of the Spanish Armada foundered offshore in 1588. A memorial marking the 1986 visit of the King and Queen of Spain and containing a written history of the sinking can be found at the northern entrance to the beach carpark.
